Liberal Democrats, due to their flawed view of human nature, are not well equipped to deal with the dangers of international politics. Not since Roosevelt and Truman have we had a Democrat in office who really understood how to deal with the bad guys of the world (Kennedy did appear to be on the road to that realization, after a number of near-fatal missteps, but his life was cut short before he could prove it).
